Effective immediately, this move strengthens the foundation’s mission to cultivate sustainable outdoor leadership, uplift communities disproportionately affected by climate change, and remove barriers to nature through immersive mushing education.

The foundation leverages these assets to deliver impactful programs, including Mushing Magazine’s award-winning stories, podcasts (e.g., “From TikTok to Trail” with Tone Coughlin), and educational offerings like the Adventure Dogs Club and workshops. The 35-dog sled team will power hands-on training, building on the expertise of Dr. Robert Forto, an adjunct instructor at the University of Alaska Anchorage and Alaska Pacific University, where he teaches dog mushing and outdoor leadership.
